Former headmistress Hazel keeps a watchful eye over the junior staff to ensure they keep their hands out of the till. Latecomers are required to report to the office each day. Despite her outwardly warm persona, Hazel will look unfavourably upon any customer who fails to wipe their feet when entering the shop.

On her days off, Hazel can be found working as a lunchtime stripper at the North Chingford branch of the Wheel Tappers and Shunters social club.
